Hong Kong Asia Music Festival 2014

Hey hey hey hey hey.. So I've just received the photos from my little trip to HONG KONG for my first performance ever there for the HKAMF 2014! So much fun! Thought it deserved a little blog post (how good have I been at blogging, eh? I think it's going to become a daily thing!).

The gang! 

I LOVE my new Elizabeth & James suit - so fun and sophisticated. Also the fact that it's by Mary-Kate and Ashley just makes me feel so... so? Good?! HAPPY!

Rehearsals were fun. Huge stage, AMAZING sound system.

The press-con was kinda funny. I don't speak cantonese so I was sat with the Japanese guys laughing and clapping and applauding pretending we understood what was going on. It was quite nicely done. We all brought a gift to represent our countries and picked blindly a country to give them to. It was such an honour to represent Singapore and meet the artists from the other countries!

I walked away with traditional masks from Korean group N-SONIC! Was so happy (and the other artists were pretty envious of my gift, hehe!)

I'M A GIANT!!! 

Showtime! We were told to come at 3:30pm for a full run through but, as per usual with such big events, things overran and the full dress had to be missed meaning we were in our changing room from 3:30 'til showtime at 8pm! THE ONE TIME I DONT BRING BOOKS! They accommodated for everyone with individual rooms for each performer + team which was sweet!

Made some lovely friends. Congratulations to Hong Kong - stunning, gorgeous, friendly girl J.Arie. We are so hitting Universal Studios when she's next in Singapore!

N-SONIC boyzz

This is 1/8 ... 1/8 OF THE FOOD. The leftovers. Holy moly, we demolished. I can't control myself at self serving sort of things so I try and fill up with my favourites early on (hello veggies!). I've discovered the skinny secret! Everyone takes like, A BITE of everything. HOW!? I wish I could do that - I'm learning slowly though - hello intuitive eating! I need to learn to slow down and enjoy the chewing processes a bit more I think..

3 MONTHS!

3 WHOLE MONTHS!!! 3 MONTHS IN TAIWAN AHHHHHHHHHHHH AND NOW I GET TO GO HOME!! Thought I'd do a final post on my last few days in Taiwan just before I hit you with some 'holiday' posts (which consists of me, err, working, haha - I can't stop!). Been super busy since I've gotten back to my beloved Lion City and am still rushing around so this is gonna be a quicky! But remember to follow me on twitter, facebook, instagram for more updates!!

Have been waiting ages to put this post up for the mere fact that I wanted to post the YouTube link for this program up at the same time.. but it's taking forever! Ok ok it only aired on TV in Taiwan last night but I'm so impatient ahhhhhhhh! Oh well, I'll have to show you guys another time! It was so funny - my company were so scared of me being nervous that they told me not to prepare at all and that it was a teeny weeny little interview.. and then I got to the station :|. Apparently it went ok though (I'll have to wait 'til I get a chance to watch it to see!) so maybe their tactics work - sneaky.

I GOT A FREE LUNCHTIME OFF on such a b-e-a-utiful day in Taiwan! The sun has to come out just before I leave! Typical! But on a slighly brighter note I stumbled across the fact that MY IPHONE CAN TAKE PANORAMIC SHOTS (what!?!?!). Doh! Took me long enough. Mum's going to kill me for the above photo too but she knew what she was getting herself into when I took this photo so its just too bad for you mummy dearest (please don't kill me). *edit* - Ok, she made me blur herself out, hah!

MAKEUP TIME! Seriously - it takes 2 hours to create this 'natural' look - I walk out a different person completely (zombie transformed into a 'I-actually-got-some-sleep-last-night' bright eyed girl).

Tadaaaaaa! From 2 hours of sitting down we then made our way to the train station for our 2 hour journey to Gaoxiong/Kaohsiung to sing at a Chinese New Year function (called a Wei Ya).

I loved the dress my stylist got for me! It kinda reminds me of the one I wore at the National Games Closing Ceremony. Pink pink pink!

Did someone say HEALTHY?

My healthy snack on the way back home. I felt kinda bad after binging out at the night market the night before...

AHHH SOOOOO GOOD! I feel so guilty posting what I eat sometimes. I really really am healthy 80% of the time and then I end up going crazy for the other 20% (which I sometimes share with you and sometimes I'm too embarrassed to share with you..). 

MY FAVOURITE AHHH SOOO YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY! I had three of them, AFTER everything else (and a few bowls of these fish balls..) and then went home and had a few sun cakes, chocolate biscuits, granola (trying to be healthy but lets face it, granola is too friggin good to be healthy). So. Stuffed. MODERATION PEOPLE.

I have had so many yummy meals in Taiwan. Their sets here are so nice and they are SO generous!!

Mum couldn't hack the no meat and gave in to a little pork and fish. I, surprisingly, didn't find it too hard at all! But I guess it's not too hard with all the gorgeously yummy asian veggies on offer all the time. I already miss Ari's Tofu House and all the unlimited condiments :(.

 WAA AND I'M GOING TO MISS ALL MY NEW FRIENDS (who I've all met through work - everyone keeps asking me about all the friends I've made like I've had time to casual go out and meet lots of people, ha!). Everyone has really been so sweet and kind and supportive and amazing and I've just been so, so lucky!

BUT..

YAY I GET TO COME HOME I'VE MISSED YOU ALL SO MUCH AND I CAN'T BELIEVE I FINALLY GET TO COME BACK AND I MISS MY CHICKEN RICE AND WALKING EVERYWHERE AND HUMIDITY (a little) AND MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND FANS AND I'M COMING HOME I'M COMING HOME I'M COMING HOME YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY!
